What are the rules for carriage of animals and baggage?

The extra fee for transportation of the below items is changed in accordance with the fare rate, irrespective of the item's weight. The fee for extra baggage, bulk items and large pets must be paid in a booking office only. The Passenger is given a receipt where the fee amount and prepaid service are indicated.
  1. Each fare-paying or child passenger is entitled to transport hand luggage of up to 36 kg with the total height-width-length dimensions less than 180 cm. The hand luggage must be placed on luggage racks, irrespective of its type and contents. Hand luggage of up to 50 kg may be transported on board the train for an extra fee defined by the fare rate.
  2. Small pets, dogs, and birds, as well as one bicycle (transported in the train vestibule) may be transported for an extra fee charged in accordance with the fare rate.
    Guide dogs for blind passengers travel free of charge.
    Small pets, dogs, and birds must be transported in boxes, cages or containers, and placed on luggage racks. Large dogs, and working dogs must be transported in the train vestibule (maximum 2 dogs). They must be muzzled and kept on leads by their owners or accompanying Passengers, who are liable for compliance with the train sanitation rules. Small pets, dogs, and birds may be transported in addition to permitted hand luggage, if the passenger can provide their veterinary certificates.
  3. A passenger’s free allowance includes the transportation of plants and saplings not exceeding 180 cm in height, with bound branches and packed roots.
  4. Electrical devices, home appliances, video and audio equipment with total height-width-length dimensions less than 180 cm may be transported for an extra fee, independent of whether the Passenger has any hand luggage. Only one such item may be transported per ticket.
  5. The following extra items are included into a passenger’s free allowance: briefcases, handbags, binoculars, skis and ski poles, fishing rods, cameras, umbrellas, as well as other small items with total height-width-length dimensions less than 100 cm.
