Transportation of
any animals on the trains is allowed at the presence of
baggage receipt (travel document) and the veterinary certificate of the VET No.1 or 1 VET (CIS) form, which is valid at the time of the trip. When planning your trip, please also note that the certificate for animals transportation in Ukraine is valid for 5 days, abroad – 3 days. At the end of this period, you must contact the veterinary clinic for issuing a new certificate.
One passenger is allowed to transport one large dog or one or two small pets (dogs, cats and etc.)
Pets which are transported by the Azerbaijan Railways CJSC trains can be placed only in the compartment carriages provided by the purchase of all available seats in the compartment.
Dogs transportation
During the trip, small dogs have to be put in boxes, baskets or cages with waterproof bottom. Large dogs (above 45 cm) are transported with muzzles, leashes, chains or dog belt restraints on.
It is allowed to carry up to two small dogs in the passenger's arms, places for carry-on luggage or under the seats in the
2nd class carriages of Intercity, Intercity+ and "Regional-Express" trains.
It is permitted to transport dogs only if all the seats in the compartment are purchased by the dog’s owner in the
compartment carriages of passenger or high-speed trains.
Small dogs (up to two species) in the
third class (platzkart) carriages of night high-speed or passenger trains are placed in the passenger's arms, places for carry-on luggage or under the seats.
It is allowed to transport large dogs only in outside vestibules of the first and last train carriages in the
local trains. They have to be accompanied by the dog's owner, and small dogs (no more than two species) have to be placed under the seats.
Small dogs (up to two species) have to be placed in special containers in the places for carry-on luggage in the
trains of international communication with the CIS countries, Georgia, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia. Dogs of any size in the muzzles and leashes (without a container for transportation) have to be transported only in the compartment carriages provided by the purchase of all seats in the compartment by the dog owner.
Passengers with sight impairment travelling with the guide dogs are entitled to free animals transportation in general and third class (platzkart) carriages, however, all the seats in the compartment have to be purchased.
Transportation of cats, small pets and birds
Cats, fancy pet birds, small pets are allowed to be transported in
all carriage types of domestic trains. In the trains of international communication with the Baltic countries, the CIS and Georgia, the animals mentioned above can be transported only in a separate compartment (no more than two species.)
When transporting small pets and birds in the
compartment carriage, purchasing all seats in the compartment is not necessary.
Poultry (chickens, turkeys, geese, ducks, guinea fowls, quails, pigeons, etc.) are allowed to be transported in
general carriages of the local and regional trains.
Animals in containers, boxes, cages or baskets have to be placed in the places for carry-on luggage (no more than one seat.)
Calculating the cost and issuing tickets for animals
The cost of the order, including the cost of animals transportation will be displayed right before the payment.
When purchasing
tickets with deferred printing, you will receive a 16-digit unique code to exchange it for a ticket and baggage receipt at the railway booking office. When issuing the tickets, tell the cashier to issue a document for the animals transportation.
When purchasing
electronic tickets you will receive a baggage receipt in electronic form. When boarding a train, show the ticket and baggage receipt to the conductor in printed or electronic form (show the QR code on the screen of a mobile phone, tablet, or other device.)
